Objective: Create a presence for Columbia Beach Resort within the UK, building a dialogue with UK media and educating the trade on its product offering.

How we did it: Columbia Beach Resort has a very strong product offering so the main action here was getting media to recognise that and want to know more. The first step was to devise a constant stream of engaging content – press releases, trade feature placement, creatively themed feature concepts for proactive pitching and of course press trip opportunities. The activity calendar for the first six months was jam packed and we set about seeding all of this information. Creative concepts that work for the media were pitched including gastronomy, action and adventure, culture, weddings and honeymoons, LGBTQ holidays and family; and these formed the backbone of our press office resulting in maximum media exposure via reviews, influencer support, marketing, ad and advertorial placement and trade feature placement.

Results: The press office for Columbia Beach Resort has seen a definitive shift in recognition for the brand. Media and influencers are asking more questions, hits to the website are up and travel agents are more aware of the brand and its representatives. From January to December 2018, Columbia Beach Resort’s first year of PR activity, we secured an ROI of 19:1, including 241 pieces of coverage, which had an overall value of almost £700,000 and reached more than 100 million people across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
